'Anyone who thinks we're living in some kind of horrific dystopia needs to get off social media, stop looking at the news and just learn to enjoy their life.'

True. But, conversely, anyone who thinks our society will never end up dystopic as that sort of thing only happens to other people in other countries needs to sit up and pay attention to what direction we are heading and at what speed. We don't have a birthright to sit back and enjoy life. History didn't end.

Or better still, build a spaceship. It's the kids I pity.

Neither really.
Definitely not Brave New World.

Re: 1984 or Brave New World?
A lot depends on who we get in the transfer market.
A club like ours can't really afford too many duds.
Also Europa Cup could be a curse. But we still have to fully embrace it. Otherwise our existence as a club and supporters is pointless. We have to strive for success.

Other clubs will also strengthen.

But we now have a base to build on.
We must not waste, or be frightened of the opportunity this season brings.

Both and also neither.

Neither Huxley or Orwell could have predicted social media. But they were on the right track regarding the effects.

Well judging by the high proportion of grateful shiteaters on WHO it's got to be GB News

English Literature comes a poor second

84/85 was an appalling season. Just about avoided relegation.
Had a cracking fa cap quarter final at old Trafford against Man United though. Lost 4-2. Paul Allen had a cracking game.

But he then fucked off to Tottenham.

It all looked doom and gloom I suppose.

But hey, 85/86 we were challenging for the title out of nowhere.

So you can never really tell how the season will unfold.

A bit of both, and more and more so.
